Oh, those sick, sick Seventies! (Will we ever see their like again?) Of course, the all-girl "crew" number exactly two (count 'em, two) but since they're RENE BOND and JILL SWEETE, they only seem like more, and their experience as seamen should not be confused with their experience with semen which, in the period of 1970 through 1975, was rather extensive as fans of early porno know. They also seem to have no trouble taking orders which, aboard the S.S. Bountiful, are to give head and spread their legs. But guess what? Turns out they?re not really sailors at all! They?re really (are you ready?) Undercover Customs Agents working a bust! Well, blow me down! And speaking of a bust, the opening credits should include a Surgeon General's warning that this movie contains certain slow-motion shots of Candy Sample's gazongas which not only may be hazardous to your sensibilities, but may also induce motion sickness in those of weak constitution or strong moral fiber. As the bibliophilic Mrs. Fisher, Miss Samples is at the peak (or, rather, peaks) of her softcore career! She stays in her cabin throughout the film but this is no doubt to ballast the boat. In the role of the innocent daughter forced to fellate the first mate, Eve Orlon shows us why she was destined for her later hardcore roles. And as the paterfamilias who rises to the occasion (whenever the occasion has a pussy), Ric Lutze shows us once again why the wrong guys have all the luck. The exciting climax of the movie, in which the Good Guys and the Bad Guys shoot it out at sea, doesn't quite measure up to the exciting climaxes in the movie, but it does add a measure of danger, suspense, and violence to the plot, which is what you expected all along, right? The Love Boat this ain't.
