    Description:

He needs a distraction, she needs a boyfriend, faking it should be easy.

What's worse than being dateless for your high school reunion?

Getting demoted and finding out your ex-boyfriend is getting married.

The ex-boyfriend who dumped you a month ago.

I want to crawl under a rock and hide.

I sure as hell don't want to go to a reunion in Niagara Falls.

The last thing I need is to hear how successful everyone else is.

But when my new neighbor, Nikau catches me crying in the laundry room he makes me an offer I'm not sure I can refuse.

Nikau, Nik for short, is the sex-on-legs rugby-playing New Zealander I've secretly been crushing on.

He's flirty, cocky, reckless, impulsive and from what I've heard he parties hard.

I should know better than to get involved with someone who behaves so badly.

But he says he can help.

All I have to do is trust him and we'll rock the reunion and make my ex jealous.

Our fake dating should have ended the night after the reunion.

But before I know it, his crazy plan has worked a little too well, and I'm in deep, deep trouble...

Deep Learning with fastai Cookbook - Leverage the easy-to-use fastai framework to unlock the power
    pdf | 17.41 MB | English | Isbn:‎ B0971LB85Z | Author: Mark Ryan | Year: 2021

    Description:

Harness the power of the easy-to-use, high-performance fastai framework to rapidly create complete deep learning solutions with few lines of code

    Key Features
[*]Discover how to apply state-of-the-art deep learning techniques to real-world problems[*]Build and train neural networks using the power and flexibility of the fastai framework[*]Use deep learning to tackle problems such as image classification and text classification

    Book Description
fastai is an easy-to-use deep learning framework built on top of PyTorch that lets you rapidly create complete deep learning solutions with as few as 10 lines of code. Both predominant low-level deep learning frameworks, TensorFlow and PyTorch, require a lot of code, even for straightforward applications. In contrast, fastai handles the messy details for you and lets you focus on applying deep learning to actually solve problems.
The book begins by summarizing the value of fastai and showing you how to create a simple 'hello world' deep learning application with fastai. You'll then learn how to use fastai for all four application areas that the framework explicitly supports: tabular data, text data (NLP), recommender systems, and vision data. As you advance, you'll work through a series of practical examples that illustrate how to create real-world applications of each type. Next, you'll learn how to deploy fastai models, including creating a simple web application that predicts what object is depicted in an image. The book wraps up with an overview of the advanced features of fastai.
By the end of this fastai book, you'll be able to create your own deep learning applications using fastai. You'll also have learned how to use fastai to prepare raw datasets, explore datasets, train deep learning models, and deploy trained models.

    What you will learn
[*]Prepare real-world raw datasets to train fastai deep learning models[*]Train fastai deep learning models using text and tabular data[*]Create recommender systems with fastai[*]Find out how to assess whether fastai is a good fit for a given problem[*]Deploy fastai deep learning models in web applications[*]Train fastai deep learning models for image classification

    Who this book is for
This book is for data scientists, machine learning developers, and deep learning enthusiasts looking to explore the fastai framework using a recipe-based approach. Working knowledge of the Python programming language and machine learning basics is strongly recommended to get the most out of this deep learning book.

Dirty Works - Obscenity on Trial in America's First Sexual Revolution
    pdf | 25.35 MB | English | Isbn:‎ B098K9WVWK | Author: Gary, Brett; | Year: 2021

    Description:

A rich account of 1920s to 1950s New York City, starring an eclectic mix of icons like James Joyce, Margaret Sanger, and Alfred Kinsey-all led by an unsung hero of free expression and reproductive rights: Morris L. Ernst.

At the turn of the twentieth century, the United States was experiencing an awakening. Victorian-era morality was being challenged by the introduction of sexual modernism and women's rights into popular culture, the arts, and science. Set during this first sexual revolution, when civil libertarian-minded lawyers overthrew the yoke of obscenity laws, Dirty Works focuses on a series of significant courtroom cases that were all represented by the same lawyer: Morris L. Ernst.

Ernst's clients included a who's who of European and American literati and sexual activists, among them Margaret Sanger, James Joyce, and Alfred Kinsey. They, along with a colorful cast of burlesque-theater owners and bookstore clerks, had run afoul of stiff obscenity laws, and became actors in Ernst's legal theater that ultimately forced the law to recognize people's right to freely consume media. In this book, Brett Gary recovers the critically neglected Ernst as the most important legal defender of literary expression and reproductive rights by the mid-twentieth century. Each chapter centers on one or more key trials from Ernst's remarkable career battling censorship and obscenity laws, using them to tell a broader story of cultural changes and conflicts around sex, morality, and free speech ideals.

Dirty Works sets the stage, legally and culturally, for the sexual revolution of the 1960s and beyond. In the latter half of the century, the courts had a powerful body of precedents, many owing to Ernst's courtroom successes, that recognized adult interests in sexuality, women's needs for reproductive control, and the legitimacy of sexual inquiry. The legacy of this important, but largely unrecognized, moment in American history must be reckoned with in our contentious present, as many of the issues Ernst and his colleagues defended are still under attack eight decades later.

Electrification - Accelerating the Energy Transition
    pdf | 7.42 MB | English | Isbn:‎ 0128221437 | Author: Aalto, Pami; | Year: 2021

    Description:

Electrification: Accelerating the Energy Transition offers a widely applicable framework to delineate context-sensitive pathways by which this transition can be accelerated and lists the types of processes and structures that may hinder progress towards this goal. The framework draws insights from well-established literature, ranging from technological studies to socio-technical studies of energy transitions, on to strategic niche management approaches, (international) political economy approaches, and institutionalist literatures, while also adopting wider social theoretical ideas from structuration theory. Contributors discuss a multitude of case studies drawn from global examples of electrification projects.
Brief case studies and text boxes help users further understand this domain and the technological, infrastructural and societal structures that may exercise significant powers.
[*]Proposes a globally applicable, inclusive framework linking together several literatures of energy transition research (ranging from the social sciences to law and engineering)[*]Assesses the regional and national applicability of solutions, covering the societal structures and interests that shape the prospects of their implementation[*]Extends the analysis from technological and infrastructural solutions to the policies required to accelerate transition[*]Introduces several country level case studies, thus demonstrating how to harness niches of innovation, kick-start the adoption of a solution, and make it mainstream

Food Isn't Medicine by Joshua Wolrich
    epub | 21.28 MB | English | Isbn:‎ B08TR4H2SX | Author: Joshua Wolrich | Year: 2021

    Description:

Losing weight is not your life's purpose.

    Do carbs make you fat?
Could the keto diet cure mental health disorders?
Are eggs as bad for you as smoking?
No, no and absolutely not. It's all what Dr Joshua Wolrich defines as 'nutribollocks' and he is on a mission to set the record straight.
As an NHS doctor with personal experience of how damaging diets can be, he believes every one of us deserves to have a happy, healthy relationship with food and with our bodies. His message is clear: we need to fight weight stigma, call out the lies of diet culture and give ourselves permission to eat all foods.
Food Isn't Medicine wades through nutritional science (both good and bad) to demystify the common diet myths that many of us believe without questioning. If you have ever wondered whether you should stop eating sugar, try fasting, juicing or 'alkaline water', or struggled through diet after diet (none of which seem to work), this book will be a...
