The badges come automatically, but the benefits of VIP must be granted by the admin so if you have a badge and it says 'senior member' right above the badge you're not getting the VIP experience. Please contact the admin and request your VIP upgrade. A VIP upgrade gives you a higher message limit, more posts and new threads allowed, and a larger size avatar and signature.
