I'm Alana Blaire, welcome back to Naked News. And standing beside me today is our latest guest anchor, Sarah, who you all may remember from her recent audition! Welcome to the show! Firstly, I'd like to let you know we received a ton of positive feedback about your audition. How did YOU feel that it went? Well, we're certainly happy to have you here today and we'll be getting to know you better throughout the show. Now our first story in the news today is about lab grown meat. Are you a meat eater? Well, the debate is endless as far as lab grown meat is concerned but it seems for SOME US states, that debate is now over.

The ever-captivating Angel Banks is in the Naked Newsroom to explain.

Thanks you two, and welcome aboard Sarah! Alabama is following in Florida's footsteps, and BANNING "the manufacture, sale, and distribution of food products made from cultured animal cells." IE; lab grown meat. The new legislation is mainly designed to protect the cattle industry as it currently exists. Critics of the bill are citing environmental concerns, noting that livestock requires land, water, and crops that aren't required for cell-based protein. PLUS a single cow produces as much as two-hundred-and-sixty-four pounds of methane gas a year! Is this a trend other states will copy? Only time will tell, but it's not looking good.

In other news, the tech behind ChatGPT is ready to take another leap forward! OpenAI has revealed GPT-4o, and it's a faster and chattier version of its predecessor. Yes, there were a few hiccups with the demo, but GPT-4o did sound impressively conversational, and it can even interpret emotions from facial expressions! And in terms of its future as a digital assistant, it can translate languages, read and discuss images, and remember and integrate previous prompts. My guess is that if Siri can feel fear, she is!

And Red Lobster's "endless shrimp" might not be so endless after all! The struggling chain is closing over fifty of its restaurants nationwide and is reportedly considering filing for bankruptcy! That all-you-can-eat shrimp might be to blame, as customers ate more than the company could afford, PLUS lingering diners substantially increased the wait time for new arrivals! Meanwhile, if you want to take part in "the largest restaurant equipment auction ever", it runs to Thursday, but be warned: you'll be bidding on the ENTIRE contents of a Red Lobster location!

That's your first look at the news, don't go away.
