The idea behind this CD was to present a concert programme taking the listener on a musical journey through the development of the horn and the subsequent music written for it. Starting in the 21st century and then jumping to classical, through romantic, early and late twentieth century and back to the 21st century, this disc shows the full range of the horn's versatility, as well as the technical and musical maturity of this exceptional artist.

The album features a selection of original songs from the show written by Jason "Poo Bear" Boyd and "Jingle" Jared Gutstadt. The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 31, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Step Up: High Water is created by Holly Sorensen and stars Ne-Yo, Naya Rivera, Lauryn McClain, Petrice Jones, Faizon Love and Marcus Mitchell. The show based on the Step Up film franchise is executive produced by Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan Tatum & Adam Shankman and focuses on several ambitious young dancers in a contemporary performing-arts school in Atlanta. Folk-rock on a Nashville ground. An eclectic and expressive record led by an authentic songwriter and Pete Drake, the pedal steel guitarist, also at the production. The combo surprises us with warm arrangements and choir harmonies who occasionally tends to more complex statements.
Without any doubt this is a mature songwriter album from Steve Baron, yet we can detect some marks arising from his previous record with the Steve Baron Quartet where his voice leans and plays around a jazz-rock - almost psychedelic - instrumentation.
Coming at the end of the short lived Parmount Records (1966-1974), this record enlights the talent of Pete Drake, a producer behind many successful artists like B.J. Thomas, Slim Whitman, Tammy Wynette. He even crossed the discography of two former members of the Beatles, being involved on the Ringo Starr album Beaucoups of Blues and George Harrison's All Things Must Pass.

Each of the musicians in this group have spent years playing blues, soul, jazz and rock music around the country. The band members have known each other forever and talked off-and-on about how much fun it would be working together - some day. Finally, the time was right and The Stevee Wellons Band (SWB) came to life. Working together has led the group in some unexpected directions. The Blues Society of Western Pennsylvania gave SWB the honor of representing the region for the 2016 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. That experience provided encouragement and inspiration for the group to work on creating their own mix of blues and soul music. The band is taking their music out on the club and concert circuit in Pennsylvania, and working toward their first full-length CD. We're in the studio in January. Stevee Wellons:
Vocalist Stephanie Wellons, aka Stevee Wellons, has been performing in the tri-state area for the last 25 years and is known for her high-energy stage presence and performance. In her early twenties she began her musical career. Since then, Stevee has performed with numerous area bands and currently teaches and coaches voice at the prestigious Afro-American Institute in the Homewood Area of Pittsburgh. An experienced recording artist as well, Stevee has recorded in Pittsburgh, New York, Chicago and Baltimore. Stevee Wellons Band won the 2015 Blues Society of Western PA's Blues Challenge and will represent Western PA at the 2016 International Blues Challenge.
